10 Ways to Help HSSA

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) needs your help. Plain and simple.

Check out these 10 easy ways to help HSSA and the homeless pets in our community!

1. Adopt!

Because of HSSA and YOU, more than 4,270 pets found their forever home in 2016! Interested in adding a furry friend to your family? Click here for more information about adopting from HSSA and be sure to check out adoptable pets on our Facebook page!

2. Volunteer!

Our homeless pets rely on our volunteers for exercise, daily love, and finding their homes! HSSA has more than 1,500 active volunteers who help us 365 days a year! Volunteer opportunities range from fostering pets to completing adoptions. If you’re in the Tucson area and want to help, there is a job for you at HSSA! Click here for details!

3. Donate!

As a non-profit, HSSA receives no government funding. We also are not supported by any national organizations. Our doors stay open thanks to people like you! Every dollar (or penny, or quarter) makes a difference. Plus, all donations are tax deductible! Give today to help us do what we do best, save lives.

4. Shop!

Whether you adopt a new pet or you want to spoil your current ones, don’t forget to shop at PAWSH! Shopping at PAWSH is always tax free and helps us save more pets!

Our Thrift Store has everything from housewares to adoptable cats! Swing by for thrifty finds and slightly used treasures.

5. Party!

A party with your dog? YES, PLEASE! Make sure you stay up to date on the 75+ events we hold each year!

6. Prevent!

Every pet adopted from HSSA will be spayed or neutered. If your pets haven’t had this procedure done, we can help with our Low-Cost Clinic!

7. Educate!

The children in our community are our future! We are invested in provided animal welfare educations in schools around Tucson. Sign your animal-loving kiddos up for our Hand in Paw Kids Club today!

8. Share!

Our Facebook audience has grown to over 40,000 likes! Every time you hit that share button, you better the chance of a pet finding a home.

9. Foster

Often times, pets come into our care before they are ready to find a home. From bottle-baby kittens to older dogs, some pets just need a little extra love from our foster volunteers!

10. Advocate!

Come to an event. Wear one of our t-shirts. Talk about our cause while you’re out with friends!

The love and support HSSA has received in our 72 year is astonishing! Keep up the good work and we will keep on saving lives! Show us a picture of your rescued pets in the comments below or tell us how you help support our cause.
