Happy Mother’s Day!
It’s also Mother’s Day for dogs, and we decided to honor all of our beautiful mama dogs! Many of them have been living at The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) shelter for far too long. We knew we had to do something special for our sweet girls, and when we came across Sophie Gamand’s Flower Power project we were immediately inspired! We crafted our own flower crowns to show a sweet, motherly side to some pets who are having a hard time finding their forever home. Plus, what mama doesn’t deserve flowers and extra kisses on Mother’s Day? Scroll down to see behind the scenes shots of our photo shoot, plus directions on how to make your own doggie flower crowns!
These adorable flower crowns cost us just $17! We collected silk flowers, headbands, and glue sticks for our glue gun at a local dollar store. We were able to make each mama a unique crown just for her. HSSA is discounting mama dog adoption fees this weekend in honor of Mother’s Day. If you want to open your heart and home to a new pet, please consider taking home one of our precious mamas. You will get a $25 discount on mother dog adoption fees from May 6th to 8th.
Finally, here’s how we made the flower crowns! It was so easy and fun! Check it out.
